The Skim:

It will be an epic tournament! We will have teams from both cities and to shake things up, two free agent teams that will have players from both cities - so it's anyone game. The tournament will be hosted in Pittsburgh on 3/24, so Forest City players and fans get ready for a road trip! Leadership from both cities are planning an incredible tournament, with games on Saturday (11am - 6pm), and evening of social events to celebrate both of our incredible stonewall cities! The Tournament Dets:

Registration opens on Friday, February 23rd at 10 AM - Click here then! Players can join a team or sign up as a free agent! Registration is capped at 168 players. We will have a maximum of 12 teams - 5 from each city and 2 mixed cities free agent teams - with 14 players apiece. We will be using the lovely Thelma Lovette YMCA center located at 2114 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Games will start at 11am and run till 6pm.

Team Guidance - To be fair, we are going to give each city 5 team spots. Slot will be allotted by city based on when the 10th player completes registration. If one city has more complete teams than the other by 3/5 at noon, we will release the remaining team slots using the same logic. Players on incomplete teams will have the option for a refund or to be placed on a cross city free agent team, if slots are available.

Free Agent Guidance - We work hard to balance the city make up of free agent teams. Free agents will have the option to register with a friend and be placed on a team with that friend. If you plan on registering with a buddy, both partners must register independently. There will be a space to indicate who your partner is. Please use their full name. You and your partner must indicate each other in the first step of registration. If you write down the name of your partner but your partner writes down another, you will not automatically be paired together.

Format, Rules, and Refs - The tournament is a one day format with round round play that results in a single elimination tournament. Our goal is to give players a lot of game time, so get ready for a full body workout! Both cities play with 80% of the same rules, for the remaining rules our team is in negotiations and we will email out the official tournament rule book. In the same right we are working to develop the tournament format and schedule. We will release the rule book, format and schedule the week of March 5th. Captains should be prepared to take a quiz of the rules before the tournament. Also, you will be on the hook for provide 3 refs for each time your team needs to ref in the schedule, if you can't provide 3 be prepared to give the other team points at the start of your next game! :)

Where's the Party?:

At any tournament half the fun is at the hotel! The tournament hotel will be the lovely Hyatt House  - Shadyside (5335 Baum Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15224). There are 20 rooms in the room block and we have secured a rate of $129 per night for Friday & Saturday night. Each room can host up to four comfortable (with one king-size bed and a full-size pull out couch). The link will be provided to players after they register via email.

The Stonewall Sports - Pittsburgh team is planning fun social events all weekend. Below is a preview of the schedule:

Friday, March 23, 2018 Team Shirt Pick Up Party: 7p-10:30pm (but the party keeps going after we pack up the shirts). The upstairs of Element (5744 Ellsworth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232) will be open with a music and a chance to meet everyone before the games begin!

Saturday, March 24, 2018 Tournament After Party Goes to the Dogs (and cats): Come celebrate with us as we take over the Humane Animal Rescue (6926 Hamilton Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15208) with open bar, DJ and food from 7pm-10pm. We will have a Chinese Auction that will benefit the Make A Wish Foundation to help make a child's wish come true, and all the proceeds collected at the door will go directly to the Humane Animal Rescue that is a proud sponsor of the Pittsburgh Sports Teams. Cost for tournament players will be free, all guests will just be $5 bucks for admission to all the fun, and a chance to cuddle up with an adorable pet!

But the fun can't stop at 10pm, we will be taking over the bars of Ellsworth. Proud sponsors 5801 (5801 Ellsworth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232) and Element will have drink specials, DJs, and the upstairs dance floor will be all ours!

Sunday, March 25, 2018 Sunday Funday Brunch: For those that will need some good comfortable food to start their Sunday, 5801 will open exclusively for the tournament players and their guests. A delicious brunch and bottomless mimosa will surely help ease away the pains from the day before! RSVP and pricing will be available shortly!!

Fans - We want each city to bring out their fans! Mom, Dad, family members, and besties are welcome and encouraged to make signs, cheer loud and be proud of your home team! Fans are encouraged to join the facebook event to help us communication details of the weekend.

Not only will this be an awesome opportunity to play some incredible dodgeball, and meet new people across cities, - it will be a fun way to give back to our local community! Players start your engine and may the best team win!
