Stonewall Sports 2021 National Tournament - Sand Volleyball

Registration: Sunday, June 20th at 12:00pm ET - Saturday, July 31st at 11:59pm ET

Format: Two Day Tournament

  • Saturday, September 18: Round Robin play, cities divided evenly into pods and will play 3 matches each.
  • Sunday, September 19: Double Elimination Tournament. Teams will be seeded into brackets based on round robin play.

Rules: 2017-2019 beach Domestic Competition Regulations as presented by USAV with Stonewall Rules as Add-Ons. (Distributed following registration)

Teams & Players:

  • 4-6 players per team (4 on the court maximum)
  • A team is considered complete when 4 players have registered and paid.
  • Teams will be asked to rank themselves during registration. This information will be used to assist with tournament set up and may facilitate the need for multiple divisions or elimination brackets.

    • Level A: Skill levels range from Advanced Intermediate to Experienced. All players are able to consistently and correctly execute volleyball techniques such as bump, set, spike, and overhand serve. A division teams are able to execute combination plays that include slides, tandems, x's, and crosses. Game and player strategies are well understood (i.e., running offensive plays, identifying opponent weaknesses, reading opponents plays during volley, etc.) and the game is run at a high tempo.
    • Level B: Skill levels range from Beginner to Proficient Veteran/Intermediate. Some, but not all, players are able to correctly execute volleyball techniques such as bump, set, spike, and over-hand serve. In B division, a good amount of points is given due to execution errors. Players don't always pass to target consistently. Players understand rotational sequence, offensive concepts and defensive positions but may be working to solidify those skills.
  • Roster substitutions will only be allowed through Wednesday, August 4th. After August 4th, no players can be added, changed, OR refunded unless cleared by tournament leadership and t-shirt size changes are not guaranteed.

Cost: $45 per player (plus $2 processing fee). Includes t-shirt, awards, water, food and drink specials, and access to all social events.

Transportation: Transportation from the host hotel to the venue and back will be available for players Saturday and Sunday. More details will be made available after registration is closed.

All details outlined above are subject to change at the Tournament Leadership's discretion. Captains will be expected to be the main communication channel for their players. All questions and issues should be brought to the Sports managers to be resolved. Player conduct and game integrity is core to providing a positive experience for all. Tournament Leadership will have the express right to remove or ban a player without refund for violations of our player conduct policy.
